        TOPICAL ORDER

INTRODUCTION

           In order to navigate this blog of pamphlet summaries, I have included an Outline and Impressions of each of 460+ pamphlets, listed in my idea of topical order. I begin with Spirituality, which is central to me, and move on through Mysticism to Suffering and End-of-Life. I then present the pamphlets’ material on Quaker Faith & Quaker Practice. Next is Quakers and: Education; Ministry; History; Biography; Writing; Religion and Art; and Worldwide. The Quaker approach to being “in the world but not of it” are presented under topics dealing with Human Nature, the lives and words of Non-Quaker “kindred spirits,” theology, the Bible, and worldly explanations of reality. I close with War and the Quaker response. Within each topic, I try to move from general to specific and from spiritual to practical.

           I have created an Outline of my pamphlet topics, including blog addresses for each topic; some of the smaller topics are grouped together. To further aid in finding pamphlet summaries relevant to your search, I have written Impressions of each pamphlet summary in 50 words or less, grouped by topics that are in the same order as the outline. Blog addresses for each topic are included at the beginning of each topic.
           Most of the pamphlets have Queries; those mostly concerned with facts do not. I’ve included the number of queries in a pamphlet at the end of the impressions, in bold print. Queries are central to Quaker presence, challenging us to move deeper into understanding and God’s presence. I have a few Cross-references throughout the Impressions along with blog addresses. In most cases, you will have to scroll down to find the specific pamphlet summary.
           I have found the 6 years I have spent immersed in the pamphlets, spending an average of 4 days or more with each in reading, summarizing, and blogging them, to be transformative. Pieces of each have permeated my worship, meditation, actions and life. I hope the fruits of my labor will benefit you. If a summary inspires you, I would encourage you to read the pamphlet that is the summary’s source, as it is 3 to 4 times longer.
