PHP Summaries: Topical Order; Intro.; Outline
PENDLE HILL PAMPHLET SUMMARIES TOPICAL ORDER INTRODUCTION In order to navigate this blog of pamphlet summaries, I have included an Outline and Impressions of each of 460+ pamphlets, listed in my idea of topical order. I begin with Spirituality, which is central to me, and move on through Mysticism to Suffering and End-of- Life. I then present the pamphlets’ material on Quaker Faith & Quaker Practice. Next is Quakers and: Education; Ministry; History; Biography; Writing; Religion and Art; and Worldwide. The Quaker approach to being “in the world but not of it” are presented under topics dealing with Human Nature, the lives and words of Non-Quaker “kindred spirits,” theology, the Bible, and worldly explanations of reality. I close with War and the Quaker response. Within each topic, I try to move from general to specific and from spiritual to practical. ...
